RUN

So i ran a race for the first time Saturday morning:) I was very excited to do this 5k race b/c it is a sense of accomplishment for me. I did the BYU Rex Lee Cancer run and ran for my grandpa, who was fairly recently diagnosed with cancer. I was proud to run for my grandpa. I also needed some motivation to run because i really hate running. I have never really enjoyed it but i am a competitive person and i enjoy competing in things so their you go. I trained for the run for about 7 weeks. My goal was to be under 30 minutes and be within the first 20% of my age group/gender and have my average mile be 10 minutes. I finished at 30:02 (was my chit time, not the time in the picture) and my average mile was 9:41 and i was 65 out 287 (which is 23%) out of girls ages 20-24. I was just barely under my goal of finishing in 30 minutes and within 20%. But i did hit my goal of my average mile time:) To be honest i was a little upset when i crossed the finish line b/c i didnt hit all my goals but i realized that at the begining of the year i could not even run a mile without being so tired, I have come a long way. That is an accomplishment in it self.
At the begin of the year i decided to really get into shape and do the things i love a lot more often. I knew i would have to be very dedicated and make the time to do this. It was very hard at first but then after a couple of weeks it became a part of my everyday activities. I am doing the Steel Triathlon at the end of May. I am starting my swimming training next week. I will relax on the running and increase the swimming. I go to spin twice a week but i will start riding outside b/c the weather is getting a little nicer. I am so excited for this triathlon. It was so motivating on Saturday to be around a bunch of people that like to exercise and take care of their bodies. I am just glad i am healthy and can exercise my body. I want to try of a 10k in July but not 100% committed yet.
So the BYU Basketball team this year is awesome. Jimmer is HUGE. People here are crazy about him. Last Saturday we went to the last home game of the season and it was so much fun. The energy was amazing and the team played great together. We waited in line all morning just to get in and it was way worth it. We (the students) even learned a dance and performed it during on of their time out, towards the end of the game. It was so fun to be a part of. I love to dance so i had a blast and Norris even learned it too:)
School is going alright, i cant wait for the semester to be over:) When school is over that means I will be one step closer to warmer days, a cruise, seeing family, being tan, long bike rides, and closer to graduating :) I am learning lots in school but it just take up too much time. Anyways that is what is going on in life. Norris is always busy with school work, his calling, and participating in some type of spot. He is crazy. He is on a football team and three basketball teams.
P.S. Cant wait for the bachelor tomorrow night. Only two girls left, who will he pick. I want Emily to win:)
This is the link to the flash mob dance we did at the game. You can see Jessica, Harrison, Norris and I in the same row. So fun!!!

Almost March
Wow almost March! Time is going by quickly. I have mixed emotions about time going by. On one end i can wait for this semester to be over but then again it means less time to train. I am doing a triathlon:) Yes, finally i signed up for my first one and have been training for the passed couple of weeks. It is an all women one in May! I am also running a cancer run, 5k, for my Grandpa in two week. Pretty nervous but i have been run lots trying to get ready for the 5k. It will be my first time doing that too. Life right now involves School, Work, and Exercise. I am still doing no sugar:) I do have one sugar day a week just to satisfy those sugar cravings, but all-in-all i am doing pretty good. School is just fine, I am glad i enjoy what i learn.
This past month has been fun. Still lots of basketball for Norris and I. Valentines day was fun. Norris and I had school that day. Norris also had two test as well. I didn't see him till like 8:30 at night. We picked up some Chein's Noodles and eat that while watching the bachelor:) It was nice to spend that little time that i had with him. The night before we were about to go to bed and Norris said its a couple minutes till Valentines Day, do u want ur gift? i said sure if u really want me to have it now. He couldn't wait. He goes in the other room and comes back with something behind his back. It was a really nice girls basketball. That is what i really wanted.

School
School started today for me and it went ok. I liked my first class but the other two classes stressed me out. I am ready for an easy semester but it does not look like that is going to be the case and i have only gone to 3 out of my 6 classes. I hope the others are not as bad.
The first day is alway a little nerve raking. New people, new teachers, new room, new material, new ways of doing homework, assignment, and test!!! You never know where to sit. Not to close to the front or the back, you might be stuck in that seat for the whole semester so pick wisely. Most teachers dont assign seating but of course when i sat two seat away from this old man (B/c i liked the seat) i am stuck their, right next to him for the whole semester, with smelly breath and all (Gross). He was the only old man in the class to top it off. Why did i choose that seat?
Anyway, I know i will be fine but the first day the teacher goes over everything that needs to be done throughout the whole semester and its overwhelming. Glad my first day back is over with and i was able to cook some yummy dinner and watch Modern Family with my hubby and good friends.
Monday was a great day. I got to sleep in with my hubby and spend the day with him (ALL day). This like hardly ever happens. We got up, ate, and headed to the BYU bookstore to buy our new books for the semester. Then we went to the DI to drop off stuff we had cleaned out of the office. Next we helped our neighbors, dropped of rent, drove to SLC to pick up a great bookshelf for cheap, eat at Del Taco, got a new phone for me, came home and Norris taught me how to use it, and watched The Bachelor.
I love my new phone. It was crazy b/c a water bottle spilled all over my purse in the morning on the way to the bookstore and got EVERYTHING wet, included my phone. It didn't turn on of course. So i went the day letting it dry out and it still was acting crazy so we went into the Verizon store and got a new phone. I love my new phone. It has so many cool things on it, like the internet. I can check my emails from anywhere:)
Monday was filled with blessings as well.
Blessing #1: I just so happen to have an upgrade on my Verizon account that was active the day before. Crazy, huh! I had no idea. I though i had like 4 months to go.
Blessing #2: We had a friend that works for Verizon that got us a great deal and case for the phone (saving us $ b/c we were not planning on paying for a new phone any time soon).
Blessing #3: Everyone was really quick to get a hold of when we needed them, which like never happens.
Blessing #4: We got some free school supplies from the lady that we bought the bookshelf from. I was going to buy some of the things she gave us when i was at the bookstore but i decided not too. Good thing, right?
Blessing #5: Bookshelf, i have been wanting a bookshelf in the office for 5 months now. I checked online every once in a while but nothing good for a good price. We found one on Sunday night and got a hold of the lady monday afternoon and bought the bookshelf for $50 and it is way nice and solid, like we wanted.
Blessing #6: When at the DI our neighbors, which our older, were there and i wanted to say hi, Norris didn't really want to but i felt like we really should. We walked by a couple times hesitating then finally we went to say hi. Turned out they were buying two couch chairs and need help getting it home. We were able to deliver it for them.
Such a great day so i though i would share. Till next time.
