Our Crazy Hike

Mount Timpanogos

This is when we finished
At the top
Dying to get to the top. Norris was pushing me from behind for a little bit b/c i was getting altitude sickness.
This is where i though we only had a little bit to go but i was wrong! The last stretch was hard man!
I love this pic b/c Hannah is posing all cute and Norris is like man my knee is killing me and there is me acting like a bear! I was wearing snow gloves b/c i didnt want to slip on my hands in the snow and be cold!
Amazing sunrise!
At the beginning we had no idea what was ahead of us!
Norris is the man making it to the very tip top.
Our wonderful view.

Super excited.
Norris and I love each other:)

So last month we went on this crazy hike! I have always wanted to do it and everyone has talked about how fun it is so i told Norris its time to do it. We had a Monday off of school at the beginning of September and we invited our neighbors, Hannah and Steve! We left the house at 3:00 AM to get an early start! It took 30 mins to get up their, Aspen Groove! So we started at 3:30am and finished around 3:00pm. This hike is the second highest mountain in the Utah Wasatch Range. Its elevation is 11,749 feet. Its 14-miles round-trip and takes a long time to complete! We had heard it is fun and an adventure. By the time i was 3/4 to the top i though that this is very strenuous and hard. How said it was fun. This is something you do to accomplish not just for a weekend adventure. HAHAHA. Norris knee was killing him but 1/2 to the top! I had some medicine he took but it only lasted so long. I burn a total of 15,000 calories. We took breaks to help us rest and gain some strength to continue on. Well all i have to say is what an accomplishment. I did it and i am not planning on doing it any time soon. It was cold up there! FREEZING at the top. It was pretty at the top. I go a little sick to the stomach at the top. I think i had some elevation sickness. I wanted to take it slower as we got close to the top but there looked like a rain storm was coming so we had to hurry up to the top. You do not want to be at the very top and have a thunderstorm! But we made it to the top and it sprinkled on us on the way down. Norris' knee was dying on the way down but he was a good sport! We had fun and enjoyed the nature and beauty this Earth had to offer us:) Oh crazy story- there was a rock/ice bolder slide. All the sudden we were 3/4 down the hill and i hear a noise and said is that thunder??? i look up and see people ducking and yelling "Avalanche" and sure enough next thing we see is ice and then rock bolder tumbling very fast off the edge. The craziest part about it is we were right in the path it was coming down! I yelled RUN to Hannah and Steve b/c they were a little bite behind us and more in the dangerous path. We all started to run and duck under a bush! oh my gosh it was scary! We watched it roll by and took a deep breath. Man our hearts were racing. We tried to quickly get down the mountain after that. As we keep coming down we saw this girl on a rock crying. We found out that one of the rocks hit her and knocked her off her feet! She received a blessing and was able to continue down the mountain. I think she got hit in the stomach and got the wind knock out of her! So scary! I am glad she was ok! Well we made it down safely and let me tell you. The last mile or so down that mountain look FOREVER! i was trying to go really fast so we could just be done with the hike but the path seem to last literally forever! Oh yeah there were no bathroom at all! That was fun not! Good thing i brought some TP. I would recommend this hike but its takes a long time and is pretty darn strenuous! Enjoy the pics

What is new?

Well not much is new, the fall is here:( I will miss you summer! You were so good to me! School is going good and i am learning lots. I enjoy my schedule and staying active while i have time. Some times i think i could just use a break from working out so much but i know it is go for me and it counts. I have been on a sugar free diet for ALMOST one month now. Tomorrow night will be the one month mark and i know how i am going to celebrate. After that i think i will do a dessert/ sugar once a week! I enjoy not craving sugar as much and feel better! But for now i can not wait for tomorrow night:) i am excited and so are my taste buds

I am currently do this project for one of my classes and we are to consume 5 Fruits and Vegetables a day for the first two weeks and then bump it up to 7 the follow two weeks. I thought this would be easy b/c i already am consious about my F/V and try to eat a lot. But i have come to notice that some days are harder than others. I either am not hungry enough to get my full servings, things that i like are not on our list that count as "real" vegetables, or i run out of food and have to get more at the store which = expensive. I am only on the first week of this project and i have 3 more weeks to go, oh dear! You lost points if you dont hit your goal either. But i still love having Fruits and Vegs.

Norris and I went up the canyon three few weeks ago with Shannon, Kyle, Blake, and Lane and had a bon fire and foiled dinners:) Its was a fun to go out and do something fun with our friends and we enjoyed the dinner. The foiled dinners took forever to cook b/c the coals were cheap and not even heated all the way before we started using them. We checked the food after 45 mins and the coals were not warm anymore. Lame so we struggle to start a fire (no lighter fluid) and finally just cook the dinner with the fire going. Overall it was fun and enjoyable to do before it got too cold outside.

Shannon and Kyle both had stuff on their faces after our bon fire

YUM YUM!!!

The food cooking with like no heat!
